Seasonal Lighting

On last Sunday, 25th Feb., I went to Gotenba to see the seasonal lighting.
It is called "Toki no Sumika".
It is said that the lighting in Gotenba is the most beautiful place in Japan.
My boyfriend told me about the lighting before, but we didn’t have a chance to go.
So I was really excited and looked forward to going there with him.
It took about 1 hour and 15 minutes to get there, it was not too far from our place.

The lighting was very very beautiful!

I’ve never seen such wonderful and beautiful lighting in my life.

We walked through the tunnel decorated with many many lights.

The bells were on the roof.

Don’t you think it is really beautiful?

Today is the last day for this year’s seasonal lighting.
I really recommend that you go and see it next year!

Today I could see such a beautiful sky from the office window.
There were no clouds in the sky, and it was so clear because it's just after the rain.
I wished I could run away from work and take a walk somewhere.....

Of course, I couldn't do it.

It is getting cooler and cooler these days in Japan, the leaves are beginning to turn red and yellow, especially in the mountains.

Next week, my boyfriend and I are planning to go to a place where it is famous for the beautiful colored leaves.
I'm very excited!

Chilly night

Rainy day and chilly night.

Today I started to use the electri carpet.
As soon as I turned the switch on, my cats, Chiro and Coo, came to my room and started to sleep on the carpet.

But Coo found the small box which seemed to be very good size for him.
He liked to go into the box and sleep.

Dear my friends,

I'm sorry I haven't update my blog for few months.
I've been thinking about this, but I didn't have enough time to write.....

Well, here is my latest news:

***7 months have passed since I went out with my "Mr. Right".***
On 4th Ocotober, 7 months have passed since I went out with him. We are really doing fine. Since we started to go out with, we talk on the phone or chat almost every day. I really enjoy spending time with him.
Our latest date was going to Disney Sea! This was the second time for me to go there. (First time, I went with my family...) It was very nice day, and we had a wonderful time! One of the most exciting attraction was "Tower of Terror". It was like a free fall attraction, so very scary....
But I really had a good time.

***May is going to be 7 months old.***
She is getting not only bigger, but heavier and more powerful.
Few weeks ago, her weight was 19.5kg.
Everytime we walk around with her, it is very hard to keep her walk besides us.
We always say "May, please walk slowly!".

Well, I'll promise that today is the restart day to keep writing my diary.

After work

On the way home yesterday, I felt I wanted to cut my hair because it got long and looked heavy. So I called the hair salon where I usually go to, then made a reservation.

I asked my hairdresser to keep the length but thin out my hair.

Hmmm, I think it looks better. But it makes me look young. :)

Everytime after setting my hair style at the salon, it looks really nice.
Everytime I set my hair by myself on next day, it doesn't look nice.

Why not??

Wisdom Tooth

I went to the dentist today to pull out my wisdom tooth.

It really hurts...
It took so long to stop bleeding.
I couldn't eat and talk at all.

It just hurts.

I still have 2 more wisdom teeth, and doctor said to me that it's better to pull out all of them. No kidding! Do I need to have such hard experience again? NO!!

I couldn't finsh to make dinner before he came home though, he said he was really happy to have dinner like that.

Chiro & Coo are not good friends basically.

Normally, they don't sleep together. Because Cool always tries to make a snap at Chiro. There are slight distance between them, when they sleep on my bed.

But today, I could take a picture that was very unusual.

Company trip

Company trip to Saipan!

He flew to Saipan this morning. He will stay three nights, then will back to Japan on Friday. It's not a long vacation though, but it's a break for him.

Bigger and bigger

May, she is going to be 3 months old this Saturday.

She is getting bigger and bigger.

Today, her weight is 9.0 kg!!!

But she is still baby, I think. She is still in toilet training, she can't do by herself.

We may find that she is not smart girl......

Anyways, she's going to be a big girl!

It might be hard to tell that she gets bigger than before from this photo.....

Yokohama Port Festival!

Yokohama Port was opened in 1859, and every 1st - 2nd June, there are lots of events to celebrate the opening the Yokohama Port.
One main event was fireworks displays. Fireworks exploded with music and laser beams. That was fantastic!!

Almost 2 weeks will pass since May came to our house.
She is really good & smart (we think....) girl.

She can understand "sit", "wait", and "Good".
When she came to our house, her weight was 4.9 kg. But today, it was 6.6 kg!!
(How big is she going to be??)

First Trip to the Izu Peninsula

I went on an overnight trip to the Izu Peninsula with my boyfriend.
It was the first trip for us. We were very excited.
Normally it may take few hours to get there from Yokohama by car, but it couldn't.
Because the trip was in the middle of the Golden Week Holiday.....
It took about 7 hours!!

First day, we just played tennis for 2 hours at Komuro-yama.
There were lots of beautiful azaleas at there, but we didn't have enough time to see them.
That's really pity.

Second day, we went to Mt. Omuro-yama.

We took the lift to the top, and walked around, and played archery on a large volcanic crater.
It was the first experience for me to play archery, but I could hit the target on the first try.
And the scenery was so beautiful. I recommend you to visit this place when you come to Japan.

I go to the Izu Peninsula with my boyfriend for holildays.
I'm so excited but there is one thing that I am worrying about.
It is an "Earthquake".

Few days ago, there was an earthquake at there, and today it occured again! I wish a big earthquake won't happen again. Wish us good luck.

Her name is May.
She is about 50 days old.
She is a Labrador Retriever.
Her hair color is very dark brown, it looks like black.

Not a good weather..

It was really cold today, and weather report said that it's going to rain tomorrow. I really don't like raining. I feel down when it is raining on Sunday especially, because I go to tennis school every Sunday.Last Sunday, it was raining and cold.... I felt very down.

But the very happy thing happened to me. Do you want to know?? :)

I have a person one is interested in. I haven't talked with him for a long time because there is no chance. But last time it wasn't. I could talk, and get his information. I was so happy. I'm not sure he is single or not, but I'm just happy that I could get to know him.

Shizuka Arakawa, Japanese figure skater, got the gold medal this morning(Japan time).
What a wonderful news!!
I woke up earlier than usual, then was watching TV without doing anything. Shizuka's performance was just excellent. I really enjoyed that.

By the way, I'm writing this on my way to work. Oh I have to get off the train & walk.

What did you have for dinner tonight?
My mom and I cooked our original pepperoncini for dinner.
Though we used the premade sauce, it was very very delicious. We put some vegitables in it. Eryngii, asparagus, bacon (not a vegitable...) and sliced Japanese herb Aoshiso.

My grandfather said that he doesn't want to eat any pasta for dinner. We don't know why. But I asked him tonight, and he tried our pasta. He ate every bit, and looked so happy.

It was a good day.

When I got home, I was planning to go to bed before midnight. So I had a bath after dinner. Until then, everything was good.

My parents are into watching DVD which is "ER", and they started to watch that as usual.

first exercise in a long time

This is the first exercise at a gym in 2006.
I took the Pilates and Latin Aerobics class. It was really fun and I enjoyed that very much.

Unfortunately, I canceled the membership of this gym because of lots of reasons. I wish I could join again in near future.

From now, I will keep up my exercise at home and playing tennis every Sunday.

What is your secret method of being healthy?

I haven't got enough sleep these days.... Every morning, our cats, Chiro & Coo, wait for me to feed them. Bad point is that they don't wait in silence. Coo is very hungry every morning, so he is very upset. He tries to bite Chiro's neck, then starts to fighting before I wake up. This morning, they started fighting since 5 o'clock in the morning!! One hour before I had to wake up. I'm very sleepy now... Tomorrow is Friday, Yeah!! Have a sweet dream, everyone. Good night!

So I think I could get a good start for this year. I am really happy that I have wonderful and nice friends and family.

My friend and her husband had left Japan to start living in U.S.A.. But we could talk for 2.5 hours using the internet. And, I could chat with another friend whom I met when I was in Australia. 10 years ago, we couldn't have a long phone chat with friends living in foreign countries. But now, we can do using the internet. Isn't it great?

What a great day!! One of my friend who is going to leave Japan tomorrow asked me to have a dinner with her, her husband and another friend. Of course I said YES. I was really happy that I could meet her before leaving. We had a great time, and great dinner.

Today I tried to chat with my friend using Skype. My friend has not been able to use the Skype service because of her PC version of Mac. But she upgraded her computer few weeks ago, and she bought the Webcam.I used my digital camera as PC camera. So, we used the Skype for talking and the Yahoo Messenger for web camera.It was really fun. My friend and I enjoyed that very much. We have another friend who is going to start living in America. I'm looking forward to talking with them through the internet in near future. :)

The Backstreet concert

It was good. I enjoyed their music very much.
But there were 3 break times in that concert, I've never experienced like that. During the break times, only music was playing and all the members were not there. We had to wait for them though music was not too long. I wanted to listen their music as much as possible.
However I'd like to go their concert again next time.

The date is today. I can't wait!!!

Getting Better

Hi. I'm getting better than before, but not perfect. I can't still eat as usual. My mom and my sister caught a cold, too. We all had a fever and vomiting. My father wasn't feel good. May be he was tired. Only two cats are well. They eat lots of food, are doing lots of exercise and sleeping well. :)

Today was the first day of work, but I was so bad condition that I couldn't go to work today.
During the year-end and New Year holidays, we had had lots of parties, so I got to be tired I think. That is not good....

New Year's Eve

Less than 1 hours left to 2006. How are you doing, everyone? All of my family came together to my grandparents house, and we had a Sushi Party. There are Sashimi of Tuna, Salmon, scallops, and other stuffs.
How is New Year's Eve spent?
Every year my family had Sushi Party, then watching the TV Singing Contest "Red and White Singing Contest" which is annual NHK sponsored year-end men versus women singing contest.

This picture is crabs which we bought for the New Year's Eve Party. These were boiled. We enjoyed them very much.

Last year I was in Australia, and I had a very different New Year's Eve with my host family. It was really fun and nice experience for me. We went to the Water Ski Club to enjoy the Count Down Live. We were drinking and dancing all night. It was really really fun.

Christmas Party

How was your Christmas?
Every year our family come together to have a Christmas Party. The main event is preparing the TURKEY. We were all looking forward to having it.
I've never helped my mother and aunt to cook the turkey before because of my job. Since I had a time, I helped them to cook the turkey this year.
It was fun but hard and tough work....
Anyways, don't you think it looks yummy?

After dinner, we had cakes. There were a strawberry shortcake and a chocolate cake. Those were also really good taste. We enjoyed the Christmas Party very much.

My family

Today my father's side of the family gathered to commemorate my father's parents (my grandparents) death. My grandmother passed away two years ago, and my grandfather passed away 2 months later after her death.
My family were not so close to them, because my father's side of the family live far from us, and didn't have chance to gather. However, we had some commemorate events since my grandparents' death, so we became closer. I met two ladies at my grandmother's funeral two years ago, since then we were keeping in touch. To my delight, they supported me during my internship in Australia last year. I think I am very lucky person to have such a nice ladies. Thank you so much.

Relaxing Day

One of my favorite things is that having a long hot bath.
My frined and I went to the Onsen facility to relax. There are so many types of Onsen, massages, and wining & dining.
After checking in, we selected the Yukata which is Japanese traditional clothes and we have to wear inside the facility, then went into the locker room to change our clothes.
This Onsen facility's theme is the life of Edo period, so all the decorations are really Japanese traditional style.
We went to:
*Foot bath (An open-air foot bath where both males and females can enjoy together with our Yukata on.)
*Bedrock bath (lie-down on the rock for 25 minutes with our Yukata on, so our body become warm from inside)
*Grand indoor bath & Open-air bath (inside & outside)
*Rubbing massage (Korean style massage)

We have been there about 4 hours to finisht all the above things.
Then we had a dinner. we drank a beer, it was really really good taste. Because we were very thirsty, I think.
After dinner, we went to the relaxation room to rest for a while.

We stayed at this Onsen facility for 8 hours, but we could have wonderful and relaxing time there.

When you have a chance to come to Tokyo, I recommend to go there.

Winter has come.....

It was really cold not only today but also these days. When winter comes, our cats (especially Coo) like to sit and sleep with us. Because it is the first winter in his life. This morning, I woke up because I felt something was on myself. I found that chiro was sleeping besides me, and Coo was sleeping at the foot of my bed. They were very heavy when both of them were sleeping with me though, it was very warm. So I didn't want to get up....

It is over midnight already... I have to go to bed. But I'm still wondering what I should write about for today's blog.... Humm
I was very busy for doing my friends' greeting cards. Because I could meet many nice friends in Australia, and we still have been keeping in touch. Isn't it very nice thing, is it?
Now I will be busy again to prepare sending new year greeting cards to my friends. I will try to post them until December 25th so they'll arrive on January 1st.

A week later

I still have been spending busy days since a week ago. How are you, everyone? It is getting really cold in here recently. This morning was about 2 degrees, and about only 10 degrees at noon...
I was in Australia a year ago, and I remember that it was summer in December! It was very hot there, and I felt something strange because I had never had experienced before. Now I am missing the Summer Christmas!! :)

I'm so happy! I've lost about 3 kilos in 3 months. It's great!
And one of our business acquaintance noticed that I've lost weight. Yesterday my friend noticed, too.
Recently I can wear some skirts which I couldn't wear them last year. So I'm really happy because my patience is rewarded! Keep it up!!

Meeting with my friends

I met my friends for lunch at Akihabara today. It's been for a while since we met together.
We went to the eel restaurant to eat "Hitsumabushi". "Hitsumabushi" is a local dishes in Nagoya. I want to explain and tried to write in English.... But sorry it is difficult to write it.. I'll try it later.

Anyways, it was very yummy, I really like it.
Then my friends and I went to Ginza to look around, but we didn't see a lot because it was very cold outside. We went to the cafe and chat for about 2 hours....
I was tired a little bit, but I had a good time with them.

The first step

I got a haircut today. I went to the beauty salon where I use every time and asked the beautician to dye my hair dark brown. Dyeing my hair is the 2nd time in my life, so I was worrying a little bit. When my hair was set at the end, I was really happy. I think it gave me a new look. I really like my hair colour. I feel like dressing up and going out.

Watched the movie in English.

The movie, "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets", was shown on TV tonight. I have already read this book, and seen this movie before, and I know the story. So I tried to watch that in English (no subtitles). It was hard sometimes to understand the scripts, but I could understand half of that. I think it could be a good practice for listening English to watch the same movie repeatedly.
I have one thing to do..... I bought the volume 5, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" this year, but I haven't finished yet.... I've heard that Japanese version will be published next May, so I will finish reading the English version until then.

Two days ago, I went to the employment agency I registered to talk about my future carrer. The lady who has been taking care of me for about two years gave some advice for me. It was good that I could talk with her, because I had been wondering and thinking about my future career recently.
She said that I need to improve my English skills to get high salary. So one of my decisions is that I am going to take an examination of TOEIC test on next January to check my English level.
From this month, I start taking a correspondence course about how to write business letters and e-mails in English.

Google Earth (No.2)

I've got a reply from my laptop manufacture e-mail service, and the result is there is nothing I can do. That means I can't use the Google Earth on my laptop.... This reply discouraged me very much.

Nevery mind.... I'm going to the Fitness Club tomorrow for a change of pace! I will do the Yoga and Pirates. These are very goor exercises for us, so I like it very much!

Have you tried the Google Earth? This is the free software which we can search the satellite images of all over the world. It is very interesting. If you have any interest, the web site address is as follows.

But unfortunately, my computer's display device is not supported by this software, so this program doesn't work properly. So I'm asking to my laptop manufacturer whether there is any solutions.

Sunny day but it was cold...

It was really good sunny day in the daytime. When I was standing under the sunshine, it was warm and cozy. Our cat Chiro was, too. Chiro looked cozy sleeping by the window.

When Coo looked Chiro, he thoghts he wanted to sleep like Chiro.

But Coo didn't feel comfortable, so he changed the position where he can sleep. He could find the good place. :)

Pirates

Have you ever tried any Pirates? I know the Pirates have been known for many years, but it is getting popular in Japan in these years.
Recently I have been trying the Pirates, it is really really good for my body. We use the abdominal muscle, and inner muscles mainly. The good point is that our posture improves if we keep doing this Pirates exercise.
When you have a chance, please just try it!

The last season

Today, we finally finished the "24 season 3". All I thing to say is that I'm tired.... One more season to go.
We used the DVD home delivery service. We can order the DVD by the internet, and 8 DVD can be rented and it costs about 2,000 yen per month. It is very convenient for us that we don't need to go to the rental shop.
So we are waiting for the next "24 season 4".

Here is Coo's picture of today.
He is now over 3 months old. Have you seen the first picture of him? It is very clear that he is growing up. He can jump very high, and he is smarter than before, eats a lot. We really think that he is a very lucky boy. I remember that he was very very hungry when he came to our house, and he was weak. Now, as you can see, he is very healthy.
We love him very much.

A dream

Today I dreamed a good dream.

I don't know where it was, but somehow I met 4 men on the blind group date. (4 men and 4 women)
I had a good time with them, then I fell in love with one of them.
I remember he was very handsome and nice men, but he was 22 years old, yes, too young for me.
So I was worrying how my family and my frineds think about him....

This is the end of the dream.

I don't know the meaning of this dream but it was very nice and happy one. I didn't want to wake up because I felt so happy.

We bought a new toy for Coo today, and I think he likes it.

I've got the lovely and special picture today!
Coo and Chiro are sleeping together!

Chiro is almost 11 years old, so he likes quiet and calmness days. But Coo likes playing with him. Coo is always trying to play with him, so he bites him very hard.
They have not been friendly with each other.

But today, something happened to them. They are sleeping together! When I saw them, I picked up my camera and took this picture.
They are still sleeping while I'm writing this diary.

Today was a really wonderful day.
Some of my little friends sent e-mails to me.
I joined the internship program to learn other cultures and have experiences to introduce our culture. I went to Australia last year, and I visted 3 schools (two schools in WA, and one school in NSW). I had very wonderful experiences from this internship, but the BEST one is that I could meet wonderful people.
I am really happy to hear from kids today. Thank you very much.

I will keep up this diary as long as I can.

My parents and I were watching "24" for more than 8 hours!!
We started 5:oo p.m on Saturday, and finished 1:oo a.m on Sunday. My parents had a shower and went to bed, but we still had two more episodes. So I kept waching, and finished 5:00 a.m. on Sunday.
We were very very much into this drama.......

It is getting cool recently, especially in the morning and night. I can't stay wearing onlx a T-shirt though I'm in the house.

Oh no! I've forgot to get off the Express train because I'm very much into write THIS blog with my mobile phone. So the next stop is over four stops!! Only local train stops at my station....

Now I've changed the train, and I have to be careful.

unhappy week

I caught a cold last week, and I still don't feel good. On Tuesday I was coughing, Wednesday I went to the hospital, Thursday I worked only in the morning, and I was off today. Also I couldn't write my blog during this week. Now I'm missing my healthy body.

There is one more piece of news. Coo is still getting bigger and bigger. He is now 2.0kg. He is healthy, eats a lot of catfood and plays all day. I'll update his photo soon.

1 Month Anniversary

Today is Coo's 1 month anniversary since he settled in our house. My mom said, "Still a month? I thought more than a month have passed since he came to our house. He settled in very well." I really agree with her.
And his weight was 340g when he came here, but now (actually yesterday) 1.4kg! He is getting bigger and bigger.
I tried to take a photo of him today, but he was always playing with toys, so all the pictures are not good... Today's picture is the one when he was sleepy.
It is hard to know Coo is getting bigger, isn't it?

Dentist

I didn't like the dentist. Always hurt, disgusting sound.....
I really didn't want to go there. But few months ago, I started to go to the dentist because my bad teeth hurt. Now these are getting better than before. I still don't like the dentist, but I think I'm used to the disgusting sound, hurt.

We didn't find any fleas from him. This is very happy news for our family.
Coo eats lot of cat food, and drinks milk. He is getting healthier and healthier. It might be not far that the day when Coo can live in the house comes either.

Coo had a lot of fleas...
Yesterday, we found about 30 fleas from Coo.
Today, we found about 40 fleas!!
Though he is too small as big as our one hand, he had more than 70 fleas on him.　That is too many. Poor Coo....
As the result of our effort, the number of fleas is decreasing day by day.

My sister and parents picked up a little kitten that was sitting on a street, and brought hime home. The veterinarian said that he might be about one and a half months old. He was very weak, so we decided to take care of him. We already have a cat inside our house, and the kitten had heaps of felas on himself, so we put him in the cage.
The little kitten's colour is black, so his name is "Coo"
His weight : 340g

My aunt bought a new miniature poodle today. That puppy's colour is yellow.

This is her picture. Isn't she cute? I think she is very cute. She is not noisy, not barking all the time. She is not scared of people, so a ll my family went to see her, and played with her.

BBQ

Today we had a BBQ party at my grandparents' house.
It was after an interval of two years that the entire family gathered, because I was not in Japan but in Australia last year.
Anyways, we had a good time, nice food & beer, and enjoyed fireworks.
I wish we could have a BBQ party next year!

"Cha" was our cat's name. He was a stray cat, but one
day my family picked him up and broght hime home. Since then, he was the member of our family.
He was very handsome and smart cat.
But today, Cha had passed away this morning. It was very sad thing.

EARTHQUAKE

Yesterday, the earthquake happened in the daytime. That had the magnitude of 5 lower.
I was taking a nap with my cat at that moment. My cat, named Chiro, was very surprised and tried to run away. So I held him down.
After that, my family and I checked the emergency kit. Most of the water bottles, snacks were out of date!
Of course, today we went to the supermarket to buy new one.
